Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

You lead the company's day-to-day financial and accounting operations. Working closely with leadership, you play a critical role in building scalable financial processes, improving visibility into company performance, and supporting the growth of Sami Robotics.

Key responsibilities

  • Close and accounting operations. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintain accurate financial records, and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management.
  • Compliance and external coordination. Coordinate with external accountants and auditors, support year-end activities, and assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Forecasting and financial planning. Build and maintain cash flow forecasts, support budgeting and financial planning, and produce financial reports and KPI dashboards for management.
  • Performance analysis. Analyze operational and manufacturing costs, support inventory and cost accounting processes, and help prepare materials for investors, lenders, and financing partners.
  • Processes and systems. Improve accounting workflows and internal controls, help implement scalable finance tools, and support ERP and accounting system implementation and optimization.
  • Grants and financing support. Assist with grant tracking and SR&ED documentation and support the preparation of financial information for external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in external audit at a leading accounting firm.
  • CPA designation completed or in progress.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, autonomous, results-oriented environment.
  • Nice to have: experience in manufacturing or startup environments, ERP implementation, and familiarity with Canadian grant programs and SR&ED.
